Does anyone know how much lift the new Superlift kit has for the 96+ explorers? 4wheelparts doesn't have any height information on it, and it costs a buttload at $1600. The 4wheelparts page is here: Dead Link Removed. Hope someone can shed some light on this for me, beacuse if I trade in for a newer one I'll be wanting to get the Superlift kit eventually.

Also, can you order suspension lifts through 4wheelparts without the shocks that come with them? That superlift kit comes with superride shocks, if I got it I'd rather have the option of getting rancho rs9000's...

Its a 4" lift

Isn't it for 98+ instead of 96+?

Nope, it says 96-01 Explorers. That shouldn't be a typo, since, when asked about it, Superlift said that it will fit the 96-97, (maybe not the 95 for some reason). Check it out.

yeah its 96-01 according to all the ads for it ive seen

I don't know about the 95, but the 97 has welded torsion bar brackets so it won't work on that year.

You can do it cheaper by buying just the front end and doing an SOA in the rear.

You will also have to buy a new front drive shaft and they run 200-700.

Total lift cost is going to be about $2000.

Trailmaster sells thiers for 1400.

All 95-97 Explorers have the welded on rear torsion bar mounts. The Superlift kit "supposedly" doesn't replace the mounts. They use a whole new bracket that "piggybacks" the stock mount, do there is no need to remove it. The new bracket just installs over it. Now, I haven't seen this new bracket yet, so I am not 100% certain how it looks, but this is the information that I have read around the boards about it.

That is exactly what the new kit does with the t-bar brackets. They install totally new t-bar brackets and they dont use the old ones anymore.

If you bought Superlift's front driveshaft take a shot of it. I am interested in seeing it.

I would spend the extra $$ to get it from Superlift or wait until RCD finishes their Ranger kit and use that.

I agree Rick, just listing options.
