Ok then for my own edification cvan you name labels 1-3. The plpug I found unplugged was 1 and my buddy keeps telling me that 2 is the speedometer cable/accelerator cable I'm assuming they are one and the same.
#3 Is the sender that tells your transfer case controller if the shaft is stopped. You must be in 4wd with the shift selector in neutrl and at a comlete stop before it will alow 4xLo.
Well thanks, so my VSS was disconnected. It appeared as though it had been purposely disconnected and by the looks of the plug it had been disconnected for a while. What are some problems you could have with the VSS disconnected.
aHA maybe this is why my tranny has not been shifting into 4th and I feel no torque converter lockup. I better double check the plug and make sure I clean it out. Since I connected it back up still no OD or torque lock up. But the plug was full of crud it looked it had been disconnected for some time. I also better make sure the plug only connects one way.
See some things are actually good. Doing one thing and discover something else.
Fixing other peoples messes. Good luck. If you still are not getting overdrive or T.Q. lockup, check the plug on the driverside of the transmission above the shifting linkage. That is the control harness to the transmission selinoids.
