Well had the front pump seal go out of my 97 5.0. Replaced it which took awhile to say the least get everything back together start it up and it leaks less but still leaks. Anyone have any ideas and if its the seal again any pointers to taking the trans out since it took way too long last time

Are we talking about the transmission front seal? Or the water pump seal of the engine?

If transmission, was the hub of the converter checked for scoring or grooving caused by the old seal? Seal lips often cut into the shaft they are sealing to the extent that a new seal, if it's lip coincides with the groove made previously, will leak also. Or, it could be an outside diameter leak if the seal was not provided with an O.D. rubber coating or applied sealant, or if the seal was driven into it's recess out-of-square. Or, the pump casting could have been cracked during the seal install. imp
