97 mountaineer AWD tranny problem

I have seen this problem on here in a different post but I did not see a solution. When my mountaineer is going from 2nd to third gear around 40 -45 mph the trans wants to " shudder " or slip and jerk a little bit. My fluid is full and it is red like it should be. It seems that if I turn overdrive off it stops but I can not drive on the highway at faster speeds with overdrive off. Anyone care to help me out on this one?

Sounds like torque convertor shudder...

And if you do a search for tranny shudder or torque convertor shudder, especially in the tranny section of the forum, you will find multiple threads on this problem...

Here is just one of the many threads on this with a solution that worked for one person...Good luck resolving that...

Ok thanks a lot I am new here and I guess i was looking in the wrong forum. I was not aware that there was a transmission forum, I guess I should do better research before I go and say stuff lol!
