(couple hours ago) after an extensive check up im getting spark, gas, and air. not to mention all my censors are readying right. the truck just wont start. it turns but nothing happens. any tips?

Timing belt slipped or broke? Does it have a PATS system in it that might be misbehaving?

...i would check your ground cable...a bad ground could cause those symptom's do to bad corrosion inside the sheathing...but first, i would get your stored codes checked......i hope it's not the computer...

i got this truck for free a few weeks ago, check engine light was on for 5 years, 37 codes :S

okay... any tips on how to remove the drive pully thats attached to the cam? (i think)

The cam pulley should just have a bolt through the center that holds it in place. Un-bolt it and it should come off. The crank pulley requires a puller to remove.

well, i tried all day to get that bolt off. i couldnt. brought it 2 a shop and the shop messed up my water pump / thermostat housing (canadian tire) so much for a 240 doller fix. now they are trying to charge me almost 600 to do all the work and labour. this free truck is getting pretty expensive. lol

corey i told you not to bring it to canadian tire...they #### **** up then make you pay for it. my god...all i can say is i told you.

drapper, we even tried an impact and that bolt on the puller wouldnt come off =/ there doesnt appear to be any bolts for the puller to attach to on it either...

On the cam pulley there usually aren't any extra holes for a puller...3 jaw puller if it's necessary. My wife was driving her father's Ranger when the belt snapped. I changed out and the timing pulley came off fairly easily for me. The crank pulley was a fight......

the crank pully bolt in the middle wouldnt come off for us at all, impact and ratchet with a 2 foot bar...neither worked...then he brought it into crappy tire even though i warned him not to because of previous issues (like them causing 2500$ worth of damage to my cousins truck, also people on a local offroading site mostly filled with jeepers, a guy that goes there used to work there and all of the reliable people with half a brain about cars leave and all thats left is retards that dont know **** about anything). but he brought it there anyways...now he has to find money to replace items crappy tire broke.... *shrugs*
