98 explorer engine swap

I have a 98 4.0 with bad engine. Swapping in an engine from a 97. Everything seems to be the same except the upper engine harness. The plug for the alternator is different. Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

what are the differences? I know my 96 has 3 connections, a bolted tab for the power wire, a single wire gray plug and a 3? wire black plug
