98 explorer gearbox or tranny nosie

hi i have a 98 explorer which i have just replaced the transmission and transfer box in before the change it would spin the rear wheel easy and pull away fast now it seems to pull fairly well but can feel a progressive feedback in the steering wheel and now pulls slightly to the right also as accelerating a thump thump thump noise is heard which is felt threw the car
think it maybe transfer box but have not drove another one to know what feels right

I was experiencing some symptoms very similar to yours recently, just after I serviced my transfer case. I also had that sort of vibration in the steering wheel and that thump thump noise.

A long story short, I happened to forget to put thread lock in the bolts that match the rear driveshaft and the TC brides together. It was two of the bolts were missing and the other two were very loose. I replaced them (using thread lock this time) and the truck is fine now.

i have now fixed it it was the transfer box i did check that the propshaft was lined up properly had my original one all fine now powers now come back can do burnout again thanks for your help
