Hi,
I have a '98 Ford Explorer that will not start. The first thing in the morning it will fire but will not start. Fuel pump is working, getting 40 psi, spark is at spark plug. What's my problem?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the stock 95-01 section. Maybe your timing is off? It could be a timing chain or the crank/cam position sensor(s) or a clogged catalytic converter. Does the PCM have any stored codes? Sometimes a bad MAF sensor might prevent it from starting. Unplug it, and see if it will start. A vacuum leak might also prevent it from starting.

If you have the 4.0 motor check the vacuum connections on the vacuum tree located drivers side by firewall. If one of those connections is off it can give you what you are describing.
