Hello,
I've done some searching in past threads and I understand how to re-program a remote (based on the threads), and how to fix '97 and under models...static problem. But I haven't seen anything on this direct problem.

The day before, or two days before I was test the range of the remote, It was working at around 100 yards, in the morning it wasn't working at all. I unplugged the battery for a few minutes, and replaced the battery in the remote. The problem persists.

I haven't seen any threads on why a 98 and above have stopped working.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Michael

Could the battery be dead?

OK, when I read that, it read as if you removed the battery for a few minutes in hopes of resetting it, then replaced the same battery into the remote.

So there's a new battery, so that's not it.

Problem Solved

The problem has been solved. When I read the other threads, they all seemed to be about reprogramming the remote. I felt like I needed to solve the problem of why the remote is not working, then reprogram if necessary.

I gave it a try, anyway. I turned the key switch off/on 8 times within 10 seconds, the doors locked/unlocked once...I pushed the alarm button on the remote...another lock/unlock, and it all started working again. :)

Why it lost it's programming....I do not know, but that is all it needed.
While I was out there, and looked for the hidden code for the keypad, and found that, and now we have that working again. ;)

It's been a good day.

Michael...
I had the same problem and haven't tackled it yet but based on your experience I am going to give it a try...after the last turn of the key of the 8 cycles on/off did you leave it at "on" or bring it back to off?
thanks,
peter

I am a noob and completely confused by this statement. Where can I find the code to my keypad? When I find it can I change it?

Sorry I haven't responded to your replies. I have been afk. There are good threads about finding the hidden keypad code in this forum, based on the year of your vehicle.

I also do not remember if I finally left the key in the "off", or "run" position. I believe it was more like, switching it off and on really fast, and then I heard a click (door locks cycling), then stopping, pushing the "alarm" button on the remote, hearing them cycle again.

Good luck,
-Michael
