How do I find this out, I'm planning on putting on 31s and I read there's a loss of power and milage from certain ratios.

Does this mean I'll lose mileage and power? Lame..

Not necessiarly- I ran 265 75 16's (nearly 32's) with stock gears, it ran OK, I had to lock out the OD at times to keep the engine from lugging. 31's should be fine- the 5.0 has enough torque to pull em ok. If you drive easy and lots of highway, 31's will actually help mileage a little.

Hm.. So there will be no loss in power at all from 31x10.5's ?

Someone on the forum said 3.73 and 4.10 lose power from larger tires, namely 31+ size tires.

I drive pretty hard, I'm cursed with the classic case of the lead foot.

I wouldn't say none at all, there will be some. The 4.0's are more sucepptable to power loss due to bigger tires, the 5.0 has more torque available.

Drive easy, driving aggressively only burns more gas, wears tires and other parts faster and generally makes people mad. I sound like an old fogie, but its all true.

Would it be noticeable?
I race, would my times go up?
Why would there be a loss in power anyways? More effort to move the bigger tires?..
