Changing axle ratio with AWD

Has anyone changed the axle ratio because of tire size on a 5.0 AWD? Is it a pain to do?
 






Do you know how to set gear lash? If not, it's best left to an individual. I'm having my rear done soon and I'm doing the front because I went ahead and bought the whole front diff assembly.
