My '99 Explorer XLT air bag warning light blinks out a code 37 three times then will stay on. What could be the problem and what is the fix? Thanks in advance for your help!

My 99 Sport did the same thing- at least I'm pretty sure it was a 37 code. Ended up mine was the code for a loose connection at the GEM. I think on mine the dealer replaced a connector and that fixed the problem.

A lamp flash code of 37 indicates a problem with the passenger side air bag circuit. It could be the circuit is shorted to ground, shorted to battery or ignition, or have a high or low resistance. You'll have to get the dealer to hook up the NGS tester to pull the specific diagnostic trouble code. There are four different codes associated with that lamp flash code, and that would narrow it down to what the problem is.

Thank you guys for taking the time to help. The light stopped blinking 2 days ago. I guess I won't be taking it to the dealer now. Don't know what it was, but its gone! Thanks again!
