Hi.
I am new here but have been reading the threads on the 99 ex transmission troubles. I just purchased mine and knew it had troubles but it was a good deal so I went ahead...
I read the post on the vb rebuild and have done the bonded sep. plate and ford update per tsb. I did not replace the electronic pressure control solenoid because it tested within specs.
I evidently had 2 issues and did not know it.
The vb rebuild took care of the 1st, slipping and shift flare ( i only have a very small flare between 3-4 now)
Now the 2nd issue is that when I put the vehicle in reverse it lags a few seconds before engaging and if I put it in drive it either lags or does not engage. I can put it in 1st manually and once moving put it in drive then it shifts fine from there on out.. no codes, no cel or o/d lights flashing. Fluid was like chocolate milk when i tore it down( i used seafoam trans flush to clean it prior to disassembly). no metal pieces and surpirsingly not much soft material in bottom of pan. Does anyone have any ideas ? a lot of posts about slippage but I can't find much on the engagement part.
I appreciate any help.
