99 Explorer Tansfer Cases

I need to replace my transfer case. The tag on it currently reads that the model is XL24-CA. I found one on ebay for cheap, but it is a, XL24-CB. Could somebody tell me the difference between these models.

No way to know for sure... I have yet to find a database that explaisn what (if any) differences there are between the suffixes. There's likely a few internal changes... different materials used for bearings, springs, or other materials, possibly wiring or sensor revisions... There's not really any good way to know for sure.

Now, that being said, in general, if it's out of the same model year, you *should* be good to go.
