I've got a pretty big question for you guys, I just took my JL 500/1 amp and my two JL W3's out of my 99 grand am and want to install it into my ex. The grand am was professionally installed. I have NO idea where to start, I just want to hook up my amp and box to my factory deck in the ex. Is it possable and where do I start? (directions much needed) I hope somebody can give me some detailed instructions on how to do this.
thanks guys.

It might ne possible, however, you will be much better off and happier if you get an aftermarket HU.

The factory HU is a POS.

I can take the sony out of my grand am but, I'll never be able to hook it up, I'm just a cook man. unless you can tell me how i have no idea.

Is there a wiring diagram on the hu itself, or do you have the paperwork for it? When you removed the system from the Grand Am, did you remove the wiring for the amp, the speaker wire.
If so make sure that the power wire is long enough to fit in the X, from where you want the amp to the battery.

1. The power wire is run from the battery(+) to the amp(+)(youcan conceal the wire under the sill) (You will have to find a grommet that you can run the power wire through the firewall )
2. the ground wire(-) wire run from the amp to a Ground point on the X(I used the bolt the Bolts the back seat to the floor ,someone might have a better spot)
3. the remote wire from the amp to an accessory + or switched positive(maybe an empty fuse location in the fuseblock
4. You will have to use the speaker wires from the back door speakers if you are not using an aftermarket headunit with rca's. Not sure if your amp has high level in puts or not. If so you can put the speaker wires into that(+ to +)(- to -). if not then you will have to pick up a converter to use rca's (walmart has them)
5. Connect your subs to the amp the way they were wired in your other car
If I missed anything someone please fill in.
