99 ford ranger

[Danger ranger 99]

Picture me rolling... down the highway bout 55 all of a sudden I can't accelerate the truck starts slowing but dont die until it almost stops. Im close to E so I think I'm out of gas... put gas in it and won't start back turned over for 3 hours but won't start...HELP PLEASE

It could be that your fuel pump went bad. Can you hear the buzz from the electric fuel pump when you turn the key from off to run? It should make a little noise for a second or two then shut off. Just to clarify, run is the first click when you unlock the column. In other words don't crank the starter when listening for the fuel pump.
