I was talking about the axle mounts. I understand what your saying now but I don't have a welder. I guess Ill just relocate the bracket on the frame tomorrow and see if I still get axle wrap. If I do then I don't know what ill do haha

Ya, the SOA setup makes it a little more difficult.

Or maybe I can buy 4 pieces of rectangular steel, drill holes in them and bolt them on the existing mounts on the axle and bolt the trac bars to that so it's up higher?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. But I forgot to mention, you have to make sure that if you do raise the mounts on the axle, they won't hit the frame under compression or when the rear articulates.

the green lines are the factory trac bar mounts and the black lines are pieces of the steel bolted to the factory tac bar mounts to make the trac bar sit above the leaf springs rather than right level with them.

That won't work because the pieces you add will just want to pivot on the bolt in the stock mounts.

Nice EX maybe we will see eachother on the trails sometime. I go out to wheel/shooting in estacada sometimes. Or maybe we can get together sometime and go wheeling/shooting when I get my truck fixed up. I recently moved to oregon and are looking for people with the same intrest in my area.

yeah man that would cool! Never been wheelin with another explorer because nobody lifts them up here!

Plan on doing a coil seat/add-a-leaf lift with some 32's in a month or so. Gotta do a engine swap first. Do you know any local places that have used or rebuilt engines locally for a decent price. I don't want to have to sell my kidney for a rebuilt engine but I will if I have to.

I have always gone to foster auto parts for my used parts. I'm pretty sure the engines come with a warranty too.

duct taped my iphone to my reciever so I could see how much axle wrap I got goin and suprisingly it's not that bad. I was giving it a lot of gas too...

nice flex shot... it really makes me wonder why its so easy to raise the rear and such a pain for the front. wish there was a cheaper front kit available would make alot of us gen 2 guys alot happier im sure.

thanks guys! lifting the front isnt that hard. 2" TT and a sloped body lift and it will sit pretty level.

they bumped up the delivery date for my 3" body lift spacer ive been waiting for to thursday and it's supposed to rain all day damnit!

I have a welder that your more then welcome to use. It's a 220v mig and I've got the flux-core wire on there now.
