I have been having a problem with my A/C air coming out the wrong vents.
I have read posts on several forums and car question web sites.

They all seem to indicate that if there is not a vacuum leak on the engine ,then the problem is usually a leaky vacuum reservoir or a check valve in the vacuum line.

Alldata.com shows a reservoir in an Explorer A/C vacuum diagram I brought up. But they don't tell where it is located.

The long and the short of it is: Does a 99 XLT have a vacuum reservoir? And where is that turkey located?

Whew: The A/C vacuum reservoir for the 99 is located , more or less, under the intake air plenum (filter) box. To remove the filter box I had to pull out the plastic inside fenderwell. So I just changed it out from below.

No matter where you stand or crawl it cannot be seen without a mirror and a flashlight.
