1989 Plymouth acclaim
Hello everyone and thank you for the welcome!! my 1989 non ford blew its head gasket I'm forced to go for replacement wheels. I saw and acted on a cute SMALL explorer, the 96 as in the subject line. Its engine is the 4 liter v6 has 191,000 miles on it. It has sat for years started now n then "their father passed away was his car". using my spare good battery and 5 gallons of NEW fresh gas they told me "I'm the only person to get it started". The engine struggled and shook at 1st but after warming it just purrred. My concern is are these engines capable of over 200,00 miles OR sadly is it at the end of its life??? before i buy it I better make sure. THANK YOU!!! I'll likly get it for 500.00

the impending 96 explorer

2 and 300,00 miles WOW encouraging! its a relief too I SO believe in buying 100% American made BY an American owned co. so I AM relieved that the Toyota pick uo truck didnt come through. I feel totally happier about this explorer, just a little scared....i have a job but I'm FAR.....I struggle like many others financially so considering the 191,000 I'm concerned "what am I getting myself into....but "gotta have a car so. Our society! HEY GM went bellly up Iacoca rescued Chrysler was Ford ever in trouble???
