a/c clicking noise

My a/c pulley kicks on and off even with a/c turned off. It makes a loud clicking noise and sounds like lifters ticking' I know it's not lifters just had all that replaced. It made this noise before too. Was wondering if a/c just needs to be recharged to eliminate clicking noise.

The AC will "run" if the defroster is turned on. In cold temperatures the AC will hit the low cutout pretty quickly, and cycle as you mention. It *COULD* be a low charge contrinuting to making it even quicker, but I'd not worry about it. Turn off the defrost unless you nesd it and the probvlem *should* go away.
