- 1999 Ford Explorer V8 5.0
I have searched this site no kidding for hrs. On trying to find a solution to my problem and here it is
i have a 1999 ford explorer v8 5.0 with automatic a/c and heat controls. Meaning i dont have the common turn knob type. All i do is adjust the temp by pressing arrows up and down and the computer does the rest.
First off there is a knocking sound click click going on under the dash almost seems like its comming from the glove box. What i read is that it could be the blower flap motor going out or has gone out. However, with the ac heat completely off, it still clicks? Why?
Next i read that it runs off a vaccum and that recharging the system could un stick this clicking sound. So i went to auto zone and bought an ac can with a gauge and recharged system. No luck. Still clicks and still doesent change the direction of air flow. It is stuck on defrost.
Last after i recharged my system with new ac stuff, i noticed that yes it is still stuck on defrost but it is blowing hot??? But i just recharged my system. So why is it blowing hot while on max ac? Is it something to do with the blower flapper motor? I dont see why it could but please help.
A tutorial with pics on how to change the motor or whatever else i could use would be greatly appricated. If anyone can send pics on how to change any part involved with this repair would be heaven sent.
Thank you again
