a/c only blowing through floor vent

We have an 02 Explorer that when placed on A/C only blows out floor vents, don't understand what is going on. Before this happened when turning on switch the selector would only blow low and max and the speeds between only work on low. Please help!!

The fan speed issue is almost certainly the Blower Motor Resistor. I had the same problem, replaced the part for about 15 bucks. The old one was very rusty.
As for the floor vent, I don't know anything about that.

thanks drdoom, well I just found out more info from my wife, since its her car, and that its blowing from the defrost also including the floor. I guess I should have gone out and took a look at the first time!!
