A/C question

[4x4 Ranger Man]

i have to replace my a/c pump on my 1995 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 engine and they told me that i had to pump down the the system after installing the new pump and then add the a/c oil to it and then freon. well with the new a134 freon i was told that it has the oil already in it but do i have to really pump down the system after putting a new pump on i asked every one i knew and they didn't know about it
