Ok, I am getting a JL box and sub from someone on this board and he isn't sure which sub is in it, but would one of those JL subs (10") or an MTX Thunder 6000(10") sub be best? I have the MTX for sale on ebay but it doesn't look like its gonna sell for my reserve. But if anyone wants to tae a look at it, go here--> Dead Link Removed
But it is going to be powered by an Alpine Flex 5 amp, whcih i think it is 100 watts or something like that for the sub. Tell me which would be best??

Oh, the guy I bought it from told me I had to get the speaker grille from a JBL premium sound sytem from my year explorer, but I don't like the way those look. Could I be able to take the trim that is around the net pocket thing and put some kind of mesh grille type thing in there?? What should I use for it? I have a q-logic box and it has that plastic type grille that kinda sticks to the carpet, does anyone know what I'm talkin about?? I would like something like that if anyone knows where to get somethin like that. Thanks

The sub in the box is a W0 (Zero). It's the lowest grade of JL subs. Others are W3 and W6. It's not a quality grade, just power handling. I had the guy plug the box in on the floor with about 200watts to it and it sounded great. If you're only running 100watts to it, I'd stay with the W0, no need to change it out. JLs tend to be more "boomy" than other subs so they'll be louder than other subs with the same amouth of power.

I'm not to big on MTX, don't think they have all that great of quality.

BTW, try calling JL about replacing the speaker grill. Just make up some story about a guy tried to steal it and the grill got damaged, they should send you a new one.
