Hello,

I would like to thank you all in advance for allowing me to browse your archives, pick your brains, and relish your thoughts and good natured humor. Thank you; thank you all!

I’m aware that certain forums are closely held private places for the worship and refinement of hobbies and practices that we all hold dear; some of the forums in which I regularly participate are no different. You see, I have the Jeep Cherokee version of this "<I><B>modify-and-wheel</B></I>" disorder so I’m at least empathetic with your symptoms.

I do not wish to trample the sanctity of this forum's orientation or purpose, I seek only to expand and enrich my understanding of some of the fine Explorer components in order to advance my own compulsion.

In return, I can only offer my humility, my honest thoughts, and what knowledge I have and my hope that that is enough.

Again, thanks,

/s/ Stan

Welcome Stan..Behave yourself and MOST of us will over look your j**p disorder..Hehe..Enjoy, lots of info here for everyone and if you stay, bet ya trade for an Explorer..

I'm still reading around the site, so that I can avoid wasting everybody's time and making an a$$ of myself, but the Explorers are looking fun -- Just not sure I can buy em as cheaply as I get my j@@ps (<$1000 per)...

I am convinced that I'll be needing a '95 or later 8.8" Ford diff with an second design ARB, however, and SOON!

Welcome to the site!

Poke around all you want, we never mind around here. We welcome anyone and everyone to our site and we appreciate your kind words. Feel free to post any questions you may have and we, as we always do, try our best to help you. I hope that even after you find the answers you are looking for that you stop by and make yourself at home any time. Also, you may want to check out the "Serious Explorations" forum here to see if there are any runs in your area. Like I said, we welcome anyone, on the boards or on the trails regardless of their vehicle. Welcome again and happy postin' buddy!:)

satan

The force is strong with this one Obwan. We will have to turn him away from the DARKSIDE. Search your inner strength Satan. Beware of temptation and always carry a big jack. Teach him not, job to big not concentrate I see him buying an explorer in the future!

sundowner

Well, when you think about it, if he were a 4wheeler, what WOULD Satan drive? Yup....maybe he's for real! Be nice...or it's gonna get HOT around here!

Satan

I am Sorry man, I forgot the Welcome!

Soooo.... Welcome to The best little "X" site in the world.

"Debbie not included"

Hi Stan and welcome to the site.
You won't go wrong with an 8.8 from an Explorer, just make sure it come from an Explorer as opposed to a Ranger, because the Ranger 8.8 is a 27 spline and the Explorer is a 31 spline. You'll also love the new redesigned ARB(I have one), they are great. Also if you get one, get a 95+ model year, so you can have rear discs.

Yep--

Got a '96 with bad pinion bearings (LS 3.73:1) - going after it as soon as I find a few things out (like figurin'-out the factory pinion depth codes)...

Expect posts... Queries were inconclusive.

Thanks again to all,

Post away Satan, that is what we're here for, to help....like this post....Not totally necessary, but it brings me one closer to the 1000 mark!
Pete

I'm baaaack ;)
Still rockin the jeeps, but I've also got a Ranger 4.0 4dr in the driveway; I've returned to browse your collective knowledge for my own sick distortions ...

Everyone above knew you'd come back, and with something more related to the forum than a Jeep, in this case, a Ranger.

Kind of funny, now I know 2 people with '87 Jeeps who also have a Ranger.
Just don't tell me your Jeep is red with white stripes and your Ranger is Red with 22" rims on it. That would be TOO WEIRD.

Welcome back!

Jeeps...

I don't know for sure why, but I parked out where nobody was, came out 15 min. later and I surrounded by Jeep's. and a Chevy lurking in the background. Welcome to the Forum.

:D nope: All white (2 jeeps and a ranger) ;)

You mean 4WD ranger right? Only 4dr rangers I've seen are only available in foreign markets.

Welcome Back! Don't feel outnumbered, I am the semi-proud owner of a Rubicon (I bought it for my wife) So you aren't the only sufferer of "multi-brand modification disorder." :D

It's the Ext cab with the rear suicide doors -- :dunno: yeah, not the foreign market 4-door ... and it's a 4x4 ;) (of course)
