Hello all, I'm in need of some help if at all possible. I am in the process of going through a 94 A4LD that I bought to go in my 91xlt 3years ago. The front seal blew out awhile back so I pulled it and found one to get me back running. Well I now no what happens when a B2 tranny with an aluminum 3gear planetary is used, got almost 4 months until the steel output shaft blew it all to pieces. So I got my 94 tranny apart and was going through the transgo kit install when I discovered 4 pieces of metal, but non- magnetic, down in around the spool of bore 200. I took care and got them out and was able to remove the spool and check for damages. It mate on the case side has a spring installed to supposedly stop debris from getting to where it did. Thanks Ford engineering dept. For nothing. Could anyone tell me where to look as I haven't had any luck in pinpointing the culprit part. Thanks , Mike
Pardon, it's been some time since familiarity on the valve body. This debris was found resting in that pocket , above the bore on the VB side of the separator plate, In the region circled on the image below, correct??:
Also, to be clear, we are discussing a replacement A4LD , whose functionality you are trying to establish? (Not repairing a trans of which you know the history)
