My 92 EB explorer with the a4ld no longer has over drive and I was trying to decide on a 5.0 power train or replacing the stock 4.0 tranny.

Or it could be an out of adjustment or broken O/D band.

I've not checked any sensors Brooklyn but I don't have any dash lights on either. This thing turns 3000 RPM at 70 MPH

Also what is a good suspension system to efficiently tuck 33's without cutting sheet metal? I'm not above body lifting my rig but I'd like to keep it to 3" max. Just curious as to what size suspension lift with the body lift will get me where I want to be

LeftGun, I have had lost OD and fixed it. The valve body on yours has two solenoids and one tends to go bad. I took the opportunity to rebuild my valve body with lower mileage solenoids (new ones are available) and a Transgo shift correction kit, which made the trans perform better in every way. It wasn't hard, just took some time. You can get all the parts needed from TransmissionPartsUSA.com. Let me know if you need help picking out which parts or help rebuilding the valve body (I am local).

arco777, I would like to talk to you more about the valve body rebuild, as I've seen on you tube that they ARE crap. I have no qualms with doing the work I just need to know what parts I need to make it happen. If they aren't to much. My email is pulaskicountyboy@yahoo.com
