I'm assuming they're paying for the damages?

yup, that is why I do ALL the work on my truck myself.... I don't like servicemen trying to do my oil change as fast as possible and 17 year olds flushing my transmission who don't know jack about cars other than what they are told just to do the job... I even do the brakes and rotate my tires myself.

EDIT: I really like the burnt orange color though!

be sure to have the shop pay for the repairs and get a refund on some of the cost of whatever they did to you car. it was obviously left in N and nobody chalked the wheels,

clearly whoever set that lift up for the vehicle didn't do a very good job, my guess is that the ramps were set way too wide, and combined with not being in park, that let it roll off.
and ya, they are paying for it all, right?

Damn!
Im surprised there is that little damage, don't settle for anything less that 100% repaired.

Could be worse though...

same here man

i make then pay for the damage and get some kind of refund for the service they were doing.

omg that poor car on the bottom lol

they wanted $3500 to fix the transmission so we said no and this happened while they were lowering it.

geico should be negotiating with them now

good, they should fix it, its kind of pathetic. those 4 post lifts are pretty idiot proof.

your actually lucky the wall was right there, it looks like it was going to fall into the center of the lift. in not even sitting straight on the lift in the first place.

And the manager was so useless!!!!!

it's like he was acting like nothing happened

Then they almost crashed it again while backing out of the garage!!!!

If you can screw up with a 4-post lift then I have no idea why you even have a driver's license. Put it in park and put the lift up. Chocks would be a good idea too.

Don't be afraid to send them a nastygram from a lawyer of your choice. You can also try talking to the regional manager. I did that at a Mavis Tire when they couldn't get the alignment done right after two tries. They couldn't give my my money back fast enough. Apparently getting yelled at by regional was a Really Bad Thing.

Someone in my family, I think my uncle, he dropped of a linclon some other big car at a shop because the brakes didn't work too good, and they drove it over the lift and into the wall on the other side. Smashed the whole front end.

There were a couple close calls with lifts at the auto shop in my HS too. Between the lifts being crappy and some of the less-than-intelligent students using them it could be hazardous. I got under a 80's grand marquis and realized that there was only about 1/4 in of the lift pad under the frame on one side. I got out from under that car fast. Another time I had my explorer up, and the safety on the far side of the lift from where the controls were did not release, so only one side of the lift was going down. Watching your truck start to tilt toward you is a good way to get brown shorts

Edit: I wonder what happened to the SS in the last pic. I don't see lift arms on the left?

its good you got pictures in case he starts to say it didn't happen ^_^,

I hate to say it man.. I got a laugh out of this.. however good job taking the pictures. That saves you the headache.

Sorry to see that. Hope it works out for you though. This to is why i perfer working my vehicle.
