Had my ABS light read at the dealer and they said I need an ABS control module, quoted me $1000!!! to fix it. Any cheaper alternatives? Can I do this myself with some minor work? Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks! :p :p

From what I understand, most ABS parts are non serviceable, once their done their done so their probably selling you a new one.

$1000 is a bargain....

. $1504.53

The module, XL2Z2C215AA , lists for $1504.53. Are yiou sure that this is what they are talking about?

Search for the thread selling parts from a 99 Limited. Ask Ped5stang what they want for the ABS module for it.

I paid about $200 for an entire ABS system for my 95 Crown Vic. $100 was for the pump, controller, and sensors. The rest was for wiring, master cylinder, and brake lines. I added a four channel 97 Crown Vic ABS system to my non-ABS 95 Crown Vic. :)

Don't start your search at Ford, that should be the last resort. Good luck,
Don W
