hi i recently get a 2000 explorer with the 4.0l. the abs light has been comeing on randomly some time withing the first 5 times pressing the brakes other times it will take much longer... when the light isnt on, it feels like the abs is kicking in when its not supposed to (as im new to the vehicle i dont know if this is normal) i have read that the rear speed sensors a common problem but would think the light would always be on in this case. any common problem you guys could think of for me to check

Dont be mad, be glad. Need a hug?

Anyways, if the ABS light is on, there should be a code stored in the computer and you need to get that read.

Electrical problem would be my first guess, check the speed sensor wires for any signs of damage. While your at it, pull apart and clean the connectors, use some electrical grease when you re-assemble them.

sounds like a good starting piont

IZwack ive tried that rout but the only places around here that i know of that carry abs scan tools is the stealership and seems like a waste to pay to have someone plug in a scanner and press a button
