Hi, I'm doing the 4.0/axle swap. My donor is a 94Ex but I'm using the rear axle from a 97mountianeer. I know I'm going to get flamed for this but I would like to transfer the ABS from the 94Ex to the 89B2 and was wondering if anybody has done / tried this. I need to replace my brake lines anyway because of rust so I thought I'd mount the ABS box and connect the wiring and give it a try. My wife and kids will be riding in the vehicle so I want it safe as possible but adding the ABS doesn't mean its going to make it safe if there is some kinda conflict. If anybody out there has tried this please let me know how it went. I will do the same but I'm weeks from getting this thing back on the road

tell your insurance that you installed ABS and see if they give you a discount lmao. in all seriousness ive not heard of anyone doing that, you might be able to if you swap everything from the ex into your BII but in terms of safety im not sure how much rear wheel ABS gives you in return for the amnt of work it will be

If I told my insurance company what I've done or what I plan on doing they would probably cancel my a$$. I'm going to try it. All I have to do is mount the ABS box above the steering box on the frame rail and now they have that brake line that you can bend small radius by hand its real soft but suppose to be better than the old stuff as far as corrosion proof. I'm going to change all the brake line anyway so now will be the time. If after I swap the abs over and it doesn't act right I'll just disconnect it. I have a 3" body lift and 31" tires this will be a DD when its done. I might put some tube bumpers and if I find a place around here take it off road but its definitely not going to be a rock crawler.

I swapped the 94Ex dash to make to wiring easier plus the old blue one was cracked and I like mocha or light tan better than blue. Part of the ABS (the controller) is mounted behind the vapor canister I put a red box around it.
