'96 XLT V8
'96 V8 AWD - Took it out for its weekly ride and noticed no cold air from AC. Looking under the hood, the compressor engages for ~2 seconds than disengages for ~5 seconds and keeps repeating this sequence. Does this indicate anything to all the experts out there? Behaves the same in AC, MAX AC, & defrost modes. Would low "freon" level cause this through some sort of pressure sensor to protect the compressor?

THANKS for any help!

You r134a is low (or worse blocked) but probably low, you need to have the system pressure tested and recharged. This happens over time it is pretty normal for the AC system to need a little charge every year, and if you've never had it checked it is probably below operating pressures so the PSI switch is turning off the pump so it doesn't burn up due to lack of oil and coolant.

Thanks. I'll try it this weekend and hope it works.
