Hey guys, this is a great site. I have used information from here that guided me to replace the front bearings on my 2003 Ford Explorer. What a job it was b ut your information saved me around $700.00... The question I have today is can someone explained to me where the high and low lines valves are located to recharge the air conditioner. I traced one line that had the stem and it was found on front passenger side near the radiator on the top of a canister. Can anyone tell me if this is the high side and where the other valve is located? The charge kit that I purchased says to charge from the low side. Any help is appreciated and once again I would like to reinerate that this site is awesome and I am glad that I had joined.. Peace!

Found It

Hey all, I found the other valve. It was near the radiator on the driverside. I charged the air conditioner with one of those DYI kits. Its cooling better then it was but not like it worked when it was brand new. Thanks and peace, Bizzs

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the A/C & heater section. Does the compressor clutch cycle or stay on constantly? It might be a little low on freon. How many ounces did you add to it?

Thanks for the reply.. I bough one of those kits and I added about 12 ounces. The gauage reads about 35 pounds and is in the "blue Range".. It seem though that the clutch is always running. Can you tell me the time frame for when it should turn on then off? Thanks, Bizzs

Thanks for the reply, but I am a little confused with your answer. Are you saying that if the compressor is fully charged then it shouldn't cycle meaning not tuning on. When I turn the air on I can hear the compressor activate, but it seem to be running all the time. On my other vehicles the compressor clutch turns on for a cycle then turns off after a certain period of time.

Thanks bizzs

May I ask which one is the low pressure port? I have a similar problem as yours.

Figure it out. The driver side one which is close to the radiator is the high pressure port. The passenger side one is the low pressure port.
