Accel vs Demon Coil

Hey everyone

In the experience of the very wise on this wonderful forum I would like to ask a question that i don't think has been asked yet. As far as for a stock replacement ignition coil, what has worked better the Accel ignition coil or the Demon Coil? Im looking for comments too from the people who have installed either one of these coils, but any feedback would be great. Thanks P.S. this is my first post here so be gentle

I've run Accel in my old Mustangs, both street 'stangs and my drag car. I also ran one Demon as well, and went back to a stock Motorcraft coil. The Ford ignition coil is more than adequately powered to run the systems especially in stock vehicles, and the Accel's don't seem to last long in my experience and in others around me. Some have good luck, but I went back to Motorcraft after trying a bunch.

Agree... I don't see the need for a different coil pack. I think the original one is very good (and sufficient). Maybe different spark plugs if you have a few miles on them.

well, I have changed all my ignition components except my ignition coil. Im thinking it being original and the engine has 110000 miles on it that it would be time to change it. I agree in the thinking that Ford chose that type of coil for a reason. It probably gets all the best results in all the different testing conditions, and works the best with all the other motorcraft stuff. Thanks for the welcome and the reply. I think I will go with good ol factory replacement parts. they have yet to let me down!

i run accel. i have found the they cause my plugs to run hot. so i had to take out and plats and put in copper plugs to cool it off a little

Very true, yelah- I don't ever think I've read a post that says "I put Motorcraft xxxxx into my truck and now it runs like crap!"

Really- they're more than adequate for the ignition system in our rigs unless you're running highly modified...

explorinitup- that's exactly what my Mustang did with the Accel coilpack- the plugs ran hot too...

Well.....im convinced. When it comes to Accel vs Demon Coil, Morotcraft wins.... Thanks for all the feedback guys!
