Acetone in gas for better MPG?

As per Lloyds Results It is well known that Acetone reduces hydrocarbons, thats a good thing.
It also may slightly improve MPG, I also doubgt that it hurts plastic and rubber componants as used in todays cars.
But as has been dicussed on other boards, there may also be a major downside from longterm use such as corrosion to the metal componants of your fuel system.
100% pure Acetone is 5% water, it is also extreamly hygroscopic, sucks water out of air, put some pure acetone in a glass and breath into it, it will become cloudy.
In humid locals, this may not be a good thing, just some food for thought

Well, looking at this same can at the store I didn't see a 100% anywhere,
I must have overlooked it. Without seeing it for sure I didn't want to assume it since it's critical. My eyes aren't the best and I was tired while I was shopping anyway.
As far as the funnel I thought that we were worried about acetone touching the inlet hose to the tank, which I was assuming was rubber. Maybe it isn't or you're not worried about it or whatever, I
was just trying to pick up on everything I read on the topic. I still don't
know a lot about this truck yet.

I think you need to read thesethreads ....

I don't know exactly what you want me to look at so why don't you just
make your point.

In any case I'll get back tommorow cause I have to hit the hay now..

have you guys tried experimenting with MEK? (methyl-Ethyl-Ketone) There were some hotrods built in the 80s running over 1000+hp and they used MEK. I think that it is crazy expensive though, like $18 for one of those gallon jugs. cant remember though. Whats the price of the acetone? I will run some tests with the acetone and then the MEK if anyone is interested...
Acetone cost me $12/gal at my local Home Depot paint department.

Oh. Well if it were me, and I was worried about that, I wouldn't bother with acetone at all.

But, I do not know the effect, if any of acetone on the rubber filler tube. I wouldn't think it would hurt it, but you never know...

Ah but my friend that is not a FORD, fords garner hugh MPG gains even from miniscule tweeks

Yeah, dodges just suck gas like pigs no matter what you do to them. Between myself, brother and buddy, we've had 4 dakotas and not one of them got better 16 MPG (one of them being a 4 banger) and they averaged about 12.

Dodges trucks just suck gas, that's a given :D :D :D :D
