It was easy to install a 12v outlet in the rear compartment, then run the wire under the door sills to the front of the car. I hoped I could run it straight to an unused location on the factory fuse box, but what a mess. I finally have the fuse box loose and can barely see the back of it with its short tangle of wires. One fuse 22 is labeled 'auxiliary power socket'. It has a black wire with pink stripe. I don't know that I have an 'aux power socket', so this seems like the perfect place to connect the one I'm adding. Anybody know:
1) what that wire would currently go to
2) how in the sam hill do I get their wire out of the fuse box and mine in
3) and/or where could I find that black/pink wire somewhere else in the car where it's easier to splice into?
If that doesn't work out, I can still try to get through the dash to the engine compartment and connect to the back side of the fusible link with an inline fuse. Not as esoteric, but it would work.
open to suggestions...
