Well, I went to Sears and had new tires put on my 2003 Ranger Edge 4X4. I chose the 265/70/16's in a Bridgestone Dueler APT IV. I was leaning toward the BFG Rugged Trail T/A, but the salesman told me the Bridgestone's were a lot better tire. Now, I'm a little worried. After reading some reviews online, I think I probably made the wrong choice.

I considered some BFG A/T's, but the tread looks like it is too aggressive for my needs. I just don't do any off-roading, and the A/T's look like that is what they are made for.

The Bridgestone's are running a special where you can try them for 30 days, and return them if you don't like them. I need some advice here...should I keep them or not. They look nice, and the 265/70/16 is a perfect size. Just don't know if it's worth the hassle of returning them.

One last thing; the Bridgestone's were $780 out the door.

Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Aaron.

I have had both of those tires! The BFG's are by far the better tire IMO. Now, I hunt only 3 months out of the year, and do some 2-tracking during the off season months. But, most of my driving is on road and highway. They are great in rain, snow, mud, sand. also I kept mine inflated at 38 PSI, and got great mileage out of them by rotating them very 5,000 miles. I had them 7 years!! A lot of tread left on them. The only reason I replaced them was the age of the tire was getting up there. But, I see you live in Missouri. So, I guess a less aggressive tread pattern would be better for comfort and less noise. UNLESS.. you like the look! They do look cool with the white letters out!! Just my opinion.

i currently run those bridgestone dueler APT´s.. I really hate them. I havent even done anything you can call "real off roading" with them yet, since i just got my truck and im currently swiching tires and wheels + some other things..

But what i can tell you about the brigestones is, that on asphalt in rain they suck big time. And i have PLENTY of tread.. But.. they just dont have any grip. Empty truckbed and rain.. bad combo.. They were on the truck when i got it, but this was also the first thing to change.... And.. the BFG AT´s.. they not really that noisy if you ask me.

I cant say these tires work fine on other vehicles, but on mine when its empty in the back, they loose the grip very easily.. And that not really something i desire..

Ole
