I have a 2001 sport with the premium pioneer system. I have had it a whole week, and the stock sub sucks :D

So I was going to finish assembling my box that I built for my integra, before it was stolen, and put it in my X. What is the easiest way to get connected to the stock system. Are rca connectors behind the stock system? Should I tap into the sub output from the stock amp with a loc?

For anyone interested the box is 4 cubes after displacements with a 70 square inch port :D made for a 2003 resonant engineering x.. 15. It is powered by an arc 1500dr.

On my 96 I went into the passenger kickpanel and tapped the pre-amp rear speaker wires. Then I ran them to my amp and subs. On yours I would simply tap the wires before the sub's amp and run them line level into your amp. Pretty easy, should be able to do it simply either at the passenger kickpanel or in the cargo area.

Thanks for the info. Yesterday, i ran into the preamp wires while poking around. The are wrapped in foil. Are the wires running with the preamp wires power for the sub amp. I would like to install a switch so that I can turn it off.

I wouldn't worry about turning the stock amp off, unless you want to keep it connected to the system. Honestly I don't know exactly which wires are which.
