I have 96 ford explorer, i got an aftermarket cd player for it. I bought the harness for it hooked it all up got power but no sound. I dont think it has a the factory amplifier in it. The only thing i could think that could be the problem is I have a rear passenger radio control in the back that they can change the radio station and volume ect. Anyone no what i could do? thanks for the help

I have a 96 also and I had the same problem. It has to be the factory amp. The rear radio control doesn't have anything to do with your problem. Are you installing the CD player yourself?

yea im doing it myself. I've installed alot of cd players and systems so i know its all hooked up right, i checked all connections aswell. I guess i'll look for the factory amp

the factory amp should be in the rear interior quarter panel on the passengers side below the window. they make a harness to bypass it. thats what i had to do to my 98 sport.

I just ran new wire on my 93 when the amp went out........Butt make sure that you hooked up the amp wire to the radio......... i forgot to do that and experianced the same problem........ Then my amp later blew up so you midsa well just run wires from the deck to you speackers
