Hello all,

My air bag warning light has started to stay on. I have done a search on the site and have seen a good fix to try is to remove the yellow plug clean and replace, it would appear that on vehicles from across the pond that this plug is located under the passenger seat. I have looked under both seats on my UK one and cant see it.

Does anyone have an idea where it might be on a UK spec one?

Cheers

Andy

Hi

The plug should be in the same place. However I will look on the ford w/shop wiring diagram for you.

Is it just staying on or does it flash a few times first.

Send me your vin number of your Explorer.

Hi Steven,

Many thanks for the help.

When you turn the ignition on it doesits normal thing, comes on then goes out, after about 10 seconds it starts to flash about 6 times then goes out. Then it flashes again about 6 times then stays on.

i will have a look later this morning for the VIN number.

Thanks again

Andy

Right just been out to the car again, it flases in a patter of 5 flashes then 3 flashes then stops for 5 seconds, it repeats this 4 times then stays on.

Ok
This means there is a fault between RCM (Restraints control module) and the instrument cluster. So there maybe a wiring/conector fault or it's the instument cluster module or the RCM.

You may want to have your Ford dealer look at this for you.
The Fault code is DTC code B1891 Air bag tone warning indicator circuit short to battery. They will need to check connector C2041a pin 11

Hi Steven,

Could you tell me where to find this connector?
