Air conditioning problem.....

94 Explorer sport. The orifice tube is being blown into the evaporator. This is my personal vehicle, and I know of one other that has done this. Any tricks/bulletins other than replacing the evaporator?whitedog

Our X currently has two oriface tubes in there.. The one that blew in and the replacement one.. I have noticed no difference in performance (still blows ice cold)..

I asked a mechanic neighbor what would he do if the vehicle came in, and he said charge it and see how it does.. If it works, great, if not, then recover the r-134 and then start replacing the evaporator..

Soo.. that the method I took.. and its working great with the 2nd one in there. If it would have failed I would have only been out < $30 for the r-134 (I can't recover it) so it was worth the risk.
