2000 Explorer XLT
I have a 2000 Explorer XLT. When I am idling, the AC runs down and emits warm air. When I accelerate, the cool air returns. I've taken it to the dealership twice. They checked for leaks and made sure the coolent was full. They also replaced the high pressure switch. In their notes they state that the compressor is cycling rapidly. What next?

Drive faster.
It could be that the compressor is getting too hot from engine idle and the air is cooling it off while driving. I've had honda's act that way, due to the small motor getting pulled down from the ac clutch.

But Still

It definitely is not normal for the AC to warm up at traffic lights. It cools back off when I drive almost any speed but, if I am stopped, it warms right up.

Thanks for the post though

I'm not sure, but being that it was in the shop twice and that they supposidly checked the whole system out, I would assume that they are normal. I don't know for sure though.
