Air Conditioning question... Need help on interpreting...

Hey guys,
My AC isnt blowing as cold as I would like it to. When I did the recharge kit, the guage was in the yellow which means SYSTEM MIGHT BE OVERCHARGED! SEEK PROFESSIONAL FOR HELP!

If a system is overcharged, could this be the reason it isnt blowing that cold? Should I take it to a mechanic to just get all the fluid flushed out? What can I do to make it blow colder? 100 degrees in this Florida heat is killin me! Thanks

Yes, I plug the system in. I then turn the engine on and put the AC on max. I let the system sit for 3-4 minutes then take a reading. The needle sits dead center in the yellow zone.

The AC blows colder air, just not cold air.

First off ditch that guage you have, they are unreliable.
Go purchase a set of manifold guages like this,

Since you said it was in the yellow I would assume the PSIs are probably around 50-70 PSI, definatley on the high side. You shouldn't see it go over 45 PSI when its working correctly. At a ambient temperature between 90-100*F, the low side should be 25-43 PSI and 165-270 PSI on the high side. Without a proper set of manifold guages its hard to determine the actual issue. Just guessing, it could be just a overcharged system or it could even be a dirty orifice valve. I'd recommend getting a set from Harbor Freight if you have one close by or thru their website. They are around $40.
Get a accurate reading on the system post the numbers and wait for Glacier, myself, or any of the other guys who know some stuff about the R134a system.

Did you feel any difference in temperature when you starting to give it a charge? How many ounces did you add?

Make sure the condenser is clean, I don't drive on dirt very often at all, but I took a hot water spray to mine, the dirty water poured down, and the vent temps went down 5 degrees

I didnt add anything because it was in the yellow. I just took the kit off and let it go.
