I noticed that while I was idling today that it seemed as though the fan speed on my ex's air conditioning was fluctuating. Is this normal or is it a sign that I should get my dealer to check my AC unit out?

Fluctuating as in like, spinning fast, slow, fast, immediately or just fast for like 30 seconds, the slow for 20 seconds, then fast again? I think mine fluctuates as well. Must be a fuel efficiency thing.

If it is set on auto, it will constatntly check the air temp and adjust the fan speed to compensate for cooling.

What they said above. And make sure it's not set on "duel" with one really high setting and one really low setting. They are fighting each other.

Ours does that sometimes. You will be sitting there and all of a sudden, the fan will speed up or slow down for just a split second, or waver between a higher and lower fan speed a few times. It is not like it is going from low to high, or even to the next fan speed, but you can hear and sometimes feel the change in the air flow. It happens so fast you ask yourself if it really happened. I don't think it has anything to do with the Auto setting, because we never have that on.
