My 4x4 high engages, but when in 4x4, while i drive it continues making a sound like an air plane before it takes off, when i drive it. A sound when the airplane warms up. When its in 2 wheel drive its smooth and no sound. The sound comes only when i drive, maybe above 20-30. Sometimes earlier.

Also i can feel 4x4 drive is tight, high torque, like your not supposed to go too fast, but i drive at highway speeds with 4x4 high if it snows real real bad. Recently i felt vibration under my legs after a 40 min drive down the highway with 4x4 high. I changed the transfer case fluid to mobil synthetic atf. But its still the same. Do you think its the differentials?

help. Im afraid something is just going to break in 4x4 and impale me.

kind of hard to understand the explanation , but i will try ,,
check all the parts the rotate,, driveshafts, axles , bearings and rotors in the front,, check front differential,

also explain , when you set the shift selector to 4x4 does it make any noises when you are not moving,?

no there are no noise when not moving in 4x4. I was thinking if in 2 wheel theres no sound, could be only the moving parts when 4x4 is activated. I only know the transfer case gets engaged. What else could i look at?
