92 Bronco XLT
Unfortunately, I am going to sell my explorer for a 92 Bronco XLT. I am taking out my sound system out of my explorer and I was wondering if you guys think I should take out my alarm also. It is a python 650ESP. I just installed it over the summer, and I was wondering how much trouble it would be to take it out and reinstall it in my new truck. I am a poor college freshman, so I need to save as much money as possible. I had it professionally installed, so I do not know where the wires are run. If anybody has any advice, please offer it.
Thanks

i am not to familiar with the python brand that you mentioned, but i will say this....if you are not gonna miss it right away, it might be easier to leave it in there!
as far as how hard it is to take it out, it depends. do you have the door looks hooked up, the windows, starter kill(most do), trunk release, etc.??????

that is where it does get difficult, but believe it or not most alarms are installed using the wires rightr under the dash. and the only one that cause a real big problem is the starter kill. most starter kills are spliced from going to the alarm brain-- like for example, the starter wire they would use would be one wire, and the brain having two wires dedicated to the starter. so when they cut the one factory starter wire, one ends gets attached to the one alarm wire and the other end attached to the second alarm wire(basiclly the one factory starter wire is now going through the alarm brain!) so if you cut it and do not splice it back together, guess what? no start!
same goes for SOME door locks, etc. etc. you might cut a wire off of the alarm brain that controlls the locks and if those factory wires are not connected, then no locky!

so like i said, if you are not gonna miss it , then leave it!

Thanks for the info, I have decided to just leave the damn thing in there. I started to uninstall it yesterday, and once I saw where all the wires started going, I said to hell with it. I will just buy another for my bronco, thanks.
