Im about to have a final alignment done and a small frame pull to finish off the work I've been doing on the truck.

I have BTF upper arms and 2.25 front spacers. I have a feeling this shop is going to tell me they can't align it when its up on the machine because the control arms kiss the coils fully drooped.

How should I respond to this? I know there are those of you that have gotten yours aligned with these specs? Can someone make sense of the issue?

Thanks

I am not quite there on my lift project so I wish I could help, I know James or Ronin seems to be the guru when it comes to this kind of thing so you might want to pm him. I saw your post on the 3rd gen pics and the truck looks really good with the lift, wheels, and tires. Do you rub with the 285's at all? A shop should be able to get it aligned. If the specific shop you are dealing with is of no help I would try around and get a few quotes and estimates. I should have my new spacers this week and am waiting on the new wheels and tires to have it aligned. Good Luck!

285s fit just great with no rubbing.

It was hit last may and I had the shop do some preliminary work on it. Now it's back and they have to do a final frame pull to the passenger side because even when loaded the knuckle touches the coil. I'm hoping that while it's up on the lift they don't conclude that it can't be measured correctly because of the [edit: UCA uni-ball cup contact]

I'll know by Monday I guess, but if they say they can't do it then I've got nothing short of responding like a fool saying 'er, well it CAN be done...' lol

I hear ya bud. I installed all my lift myself. I did not order tires for my truck yet so I have driven it with quicklifts on all 4 corners and the BTF Arms. I never installed my larger spacer and I don't think it would work. Now I am going to install my new spacers when they get here. I have the same predicament when ordering tires though, tire guys are like 33's won't fit... my response is we will see so I know how you feel! I will keep you posted! Not trying to thread jack. Follow my progress on my thread. Good luck with your install bud!

Not a thread jack at all. I'm looking for general thoughts on it so that's good. Now a waiting game...

Have you gotten the alignment done yet? I would purchase and install the camber adjusters prior to taking it in.
There is no reason for them to have the wheels at full droop where they would see the contact issue anyway. An alignment rack is like a large drive on ramp, wheels still on the ground.

Firestone had no problems aligning my truck. 2.25"front/1.75" rear spacer lift with 285/70r17s on aftermarket rims. i bought the lifetime alignment from them, had it to them several times without a hitch

Had a full alignment done the other day. They had no problem without the camber kit.

Just as I suspected! That is good to hear. Your rig looks so sick Dubya! One of my favorite expo's by far. How do you like the stance on it? I know you were iffy about it at first bust I really like it.

I was just paranoid about the stance at first. I think it looks great now. The only thing is that the rear wheels have an ever so slight camber that I think will require the lock shims to be removed.

Yeah I would look into that. You don't want to prematurely wear out your tires.
