I am adding shackles to my rear in a few days and will be lifting the front by about 1 inch with the torsion twist as I have a slight rear sag.

Will I need an alignment?

I will eventually be adding a double add a leaf and will be twisting the torsion bars another inch or two, will I need one then?

I have a 97 Sport 2wd, so I believe I can twist up to 3" with my "D" bars?

Yeah if you twist the bars you need to go get em alligned...

Any time you adjust your tbars more than .25-.5" you may be putting it out of alignment. I suggest you get it aligned somewhere with a 6 month warranty or sometime and lift it again within that time and take it back to them.

i need a little help. i lowered my explorer with shackles and tt. when i went to sears to get new tires, they said they wouldnt touch the alignment because it was lowered. they mentioned needing a camber something or other? is this right?

Screw Sears take it to a tire shop thats a local place. I believe i read somewhere that Sears had some kind of contract w/ Ford where they wouldnt mess with stuff that wasnt under warranty or something  Camber is how your wheels tilt. Like if your looking at it from the front they can be negative or positive and look like / \ or \ / Neither is good so like i said take it to a local tire shop and they cna get it fixed for you.

yeah, that sounds like a plan. i just threw on adjustable cams that came with my kit... i guess having spare parts isnt a good thing. im off to get it fixed. hopefully.
