alloy wheels

I descided not to try and refurb my steel wheels so I'm picking up from Chris tomorrow a set of Northface Alloy wheels.

I've found a local company to refurb them at £30 each inc tyres off and on and balancing, is this a good price?

Also their web site has opened up my thinking as to what colour I should go for.

Do I go for original silver, Black or something radical? My EX is the green and grey 1997 option

I always thought it would be way more expensive than that but I haven't really looked around. It's a shame I swapped from the teardrop alloys to the steel/chrome combo or I'd think about going for something silly, or black.

£30 is cheeeeap. Last time i looked the best i could get was 40 and they couldn't balance etc, i would have had to take bare wheels.
I would think the chrome effect would look good on the northface wheels, a bit of bling as it were and they would match the bumpers.
When i thought about doing mine i was gonna do gunmetal grey or whatever best matched the med platinum of the arches.
If i could go for anything i would do a candy effect matching the colour of the body but i don't think you can do that with powdercoat.

When they quoted was it for no repairs just blast and coat? Reason i ask is again i may need to get my mr2's done but a couple need scuff repair before coating.
Again we will need good before and after pics.

they don't do welding but minor blemishes (i,e curbing) are done.

Turn around is 3 days as well. I'll do pictures

I'm thinking of either black or gun metal, difficult tyring to visualise it

I was going to do it myself rather than pay £60 a corner for wheels that actually cost me £150 including the tyres!

my wife decided that the wheels should be black

I delivered the wheels to them on Friday and will pick them up Wednesday.

As well as the wheels being black, my wife has also suggested I get the chrome bumpers done in the same black power coat colour.

she told me this after I had just polished them up with chrome cleaner

Did any explorers have black metal bumpers?

the rear bumper on a black north face is painted black but haven't seen a black metal front bumper.cheers chris

OK so I got my alloys back today (3 day turn around) and I'm very impressed with the work, not a blemish, great colour as well .

Problem is, mine chrome covers are off set causing a lot of hassle to ballance, but if yours are fairly ok I'll be happy to have ones.

one of them has a little problem with the chrome cover, the other ones are fine but need a good clean and polish
