Alloy Wheels

Hey Folks,

Everytime I have wheels removed for any reason, such as tire rotation or other service, I find that the wheels must be retightened after driving only a few miles. This is not the first explorer that I have had with alloy wheels, and the last one did not have this problem. Any thoughts?

What torque spec are they being tightened to? Per the 2002 service manual, they should be tightened to 100 ft*lbs. Make sure that the tire is off the ground and the lug nuts are at least snug before setting the weight back on the ground.
